Chicago's Anita Wilson readies solo debut

A WORSHIP leader and featured vocalist with the hitmaking ensemble Donald Lawrence & Company, Anita Wilson has her debut solo album 'Worship Soul' released through EMI Gospel in April. Anita co-produced the album with songwriter/producer Rick Robinson and recorded it live in Chicago at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Said Anita, "I was on the fence for a long time about doing a solo project. I prayed about it for years and years. I can remember very vividly hearing the voice of God saying so clearly, 'What if I don't want you to sell a million records? What if I only want you to sell a few hundred records to the people in your church and to the people on the Southside of Chicago?'" She settled in her heart that her perspective needed to change. She continued, "I just want to do what I love to do and let him be pleased with me. Shortly after that I started formulating a plan."
